Repeal of ATV Ordinance

For some time, ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) activity has been increasing in Washington Township to include frequent trespass on private land, illegal operation on township and state roads, and significant damage to township and private property, including repeated incidents in the township park. Illegal activity has included operators who come from outside the township.

Citizen concerns have been repeatedly brought to the Township Supervisors, and so, with much discussion and consideration, the Supervisors have voted to repeal Ordinance No. 12-11 of Dec. 14, 2011. This ordinance had allowed ATV operation on certain designated township roads.

Residents are reminded that riding ATVs, Side by Sides, unlicensed dirt bikes, or other unlicensed vehicles is not allowed on any road in Washington Township or any land without permission of the landowner. Please do not trespass.

To report any incidents, please call the State Police at 724-543-2011. If there is any emergency, please dial 911.
