Long-time township and community volunteer Irene Tarr celebrated her 85th birthday recently with lots of family and friends at the Washington Township Park. Irene has served the Washington Twp. VFD since its inception and still does, first alongside her husband, and later as an official member. A licensed practical nurse, Irene served on the Surgarcreek Ambulance crew and served as the Immediate Response Person for Washington Twp. She serves on the local election board and has been a township auditor for many years. Irene says she is blessed with wonderful family and friends, and we are blessed to have her in our community and as our neighbor! Happy Birthday, Irene!
